Joe Butkevich – Head Coach – Intermediate AA
Joe, is a Hockey Canada HP1 certified coach, and is entering his 3rd season Coaching the Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins (PWHL) program as Head Coach. He also has Hockey Canada Level 1 & 2 Goalie Coach certifications and is a D1 Coach Evaluator.
Besides coaching Hockey in Canada, Joe has spent the past 5 years as an Ambassador with the Hamilton, New Zealand Inline Hockey Club.
Over the past three seasons, the Etobicoke Jr. program has had 25 players earn Canadian or American athletic scholarships as student/athletes. Last season, the Etobicoke Jr. program captured both the Stoney Creek Silver Division & Tournoi de Hockey Feminine de Quebec Championships. During the 2017-18 season the Etobicoke Jr. program had a 17-1-2 tournament record for the year.

Tyler Fines -Head Coach – Midget AA and PeeWee AA
The Etobicoke Dolphins are very pleased to announce the return of Tyler Fines for his third season as the Etobicoke Dolphins Midget AA Head Coach for 2019-2020. Previous to joining the Dolphins, Tyler was the Head Coach of the Brampton Thunder of the CWHL. In that role, Tyler had the opportunity to coach Team Canada Olympians and NCAA/CIS graduates. With Brampton, Tyler was named CWHL Professional Coach of the Year in 2015-16.
Tyler’s focus is to provide exposure for the players looking to pursue opportunities in the PWHL and NCAA/CIS. In 2017 the Etobicoke Dolphins Midget program graduated 5 players to the PWHL and 1 to CIS (Windsor University).
Midget AA is the preparatory level to develop and enhance the skills, concepts and systems that are required to be successful in the PWHL and beyond. With Tyler’s extensive background as a Head Coach, including his successful work with the highest performing female hockey players in Canada, Tyler is extremely well positioned to ensure the players are instructed for success in Midget AA and for the important years that follow. Tyler is the Director of Scouting and Player Development for Draftday Hockey.

Kelly McDonald – Head Coach – Bantam AA
Kelly is currently in her second season as assistant coach of the Etobicoke Junior Dolphins and hopes to continue contributing to the success of the organization at the pivotal Bantam level. Within the OWHA, Kelly has coached at the 2018 Ontario Summer Games (U16 High Performance) as well as the U18 Canada Winter Games Selection Camp. Prior to coaching, she played professionally in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) and Division I for the University of Maine. As a coach, her goal is to create an environment in which athletes can become the best versions of themselves on and off the ice. More specifically, she wants to help create well-rounded student-athletes by providing them with the information, tools, and opportunities to grow.
Joining Kelly on the bench will be Kristen Barbara of the Markham Thunder (CWHL) and Julie Allen of the Toronto Furies (CWHL). Both are currently completing their final seasons within the CWHL and are looking forward to sharing their passion and knowledge of the game with the next generation. Kristen and Julie also have prior coaching experience with Junior teams and have worked extensively within skill development.
Kelly looks forward to working closely with Tyler of the Midget AA team and Joe of the Junior team in an effort to maintain the cohesion promoted by the High Performance Development Stream.

Tyler Fines -Head Coach – PeeWee AA
The Etobicoke Dolphins are very pleased to announce the return of Tyler Fines for his second season as the Etobicoke Dolphins PW AA Head Coach for 2019-2020. Atom AA – Coach Madison Johnston
The Etobicoke Dolphins are very pleased to announce Madison Johnston as the Head Coach of the Atom AA team for the 2019-20 season.
Madison Johnston has played hockey for the last 24 years. In her Junior year, Madison played on the Toronto Aeros. She then completed 4 years of university hockey at Elmira College, in New York. For two years in a row, Madison was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West All-Academic team for her effort in the classroom. In her final season (2012-2013), she earned a spot on the ECAC All-Conference Second team. Madison helped her team win the NCAA Division III national championship in her final season at Elmira.
Upon graduating, Madison became a Toronto Firefighter and currently plays on the Toronto Fire Women’s Hockey team.
In addition to her playing career, Madison has worked for several years as a hockey instructor at summer hockey camps where she honed her skills as an instructor and as motivator and mentor for young athletes. Madison was assistant coach of the Etobicoke Dolphins Novice B team in the 2018-2019 season. As defense coach she worked closely with the defense group but was also able to provide valuable coaching to all players on the team. She also helped develop and run team practices.
As head coach, Madison will strive to create an atmosphere that fosters passion for the game and compete and drive to improve as an individual and a team. Madison will work on developing core fundamental skills of being a hockey player, on and off the ice.
